Rotate a PDF permanently, not just on screen

Pressing rotate in a viewer often only changes the view. Next time the file opens, or when someone else opens it, it is sideways again. Saving from this tool writes the rotation into each page, so the fix travels with the file.

Handy selections

  • Odd / Even: double-sided scans where every back page came out upside down. Select Even, turn 180°.
  • Ranges: type 12-15 to select a landscape table spread.
  • Nothing selected: turns every page at once.

Every PDF page has an optional /Rotate entry that tells viewers to turn the page by 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees when showing or printing it. This tool only edits that number, so nothing about the page's content is touched. Arbitrary angles such as 3° to straighten a crooked scan aren't possible this way; that would need re-drawing.

Questions

How do I rotate a PDF and save it?

Open the PDF, tap the pages that are sideways (or select none to turn them all), choose 90° left, 90° right or 180°, then save. The rotation is stored in the new file, so it opens the right way up everywhere.

Can I rotate just one page?

Yes. Use the ↺ and ↻ buttons under that page, or select several pages and turn them together.

Does rotating a PDF lose quality?

Not here. The tool changes each page’s /Rotate setting and leaves the page content untouched, so text stays sharp and selectable and the file size barely changes.

Why does my PDF look rotated in one app but not another?

Some viewers remember a temporary view rotation without saving it into the file. Rotating here writes the change into the PDF itself, which every compliant viewer respects.

Can I straighten a slightly crooked scan?

No. PDF page rotation only supports quarter turns (0, 90, 180, 270 degrees). Deskewing a scan by a few degrees means re-drawing the image, which this tool deliberately doesn’t do.
