Reorder PDF pages the way you'd shuffle paper
Scanners feed pages in whatever order you loaded them, and double-sided scans often come out as all the fronts followed by all the backs. The page board shows the whole document at once so you can fix that by eye.
- Drag a page to move it. On touch screens, hold briefly first.
- ← → nudge a page one place.
- ↻ turns a sideways page; ✕ deletes it.
- Copy duplicates a page (a second copy of a form, say); + Blank inserts an empty page.
- Reverse order flips the whole document, useful for scans fed face-down.
Insert a PDF into a PDF
Drop another file on the “Add another PDF” panel and its pages join the board, labelled with their file name. Drag them into place: an updated appendix into a report, a signed page back into a contract. Add as many files as you like; this doubles as a page-by-page merger.
Merging whole files?
If you just need file A then file B, Merge PDF is quicker: one row per file instead of a thumbnail per page, and it can add bookmarks.
Questions
How do I rearrange pages in a PDF?
Open the PDF and drag the page thumbnails into the order you want, or use the ← and → buttons on each page. Save, and the new order is written into a fresh copy.
How do I insert one PDF into another?
Open the main PDF, then drop the second PDF on the “Add another PDF” panel. Its pages appear at the end; drag them to where they belong, for example between pages 4 and 5.
Can I add a blank page?
Yes. “+ Blank” inserts an empty page after that page, the same size as the page before it. Handy for making a section start on a right-hand page.
Can I reorder pages on a phone?
Yes. Press and hold a page for a moment, then drag. If dragging feels fiddly on a small screen, the arrow buttons move a page one place at a time.
Does reordering change the pages themselves?
No. A PDF keeps its page order in one list (the page tree). Reordering rewrites that list; the page contents are copied unchanged.
